On the way to Yamba, turn off to Brooms Head and treat the family to a horse trail ride through breathtaking coastal bushland. Once you have settled at Yamba catch the ferry to Iluka. Spend the afternoon wandering through the World Heritage Listed nature reserve or play a round of golf with the course’s resident wallabies and emus.

Day 7 - Yamba to Tweed Heads

Spend the early morning fishing in the Clarence River before heading north. Stop for morning tea at an exciting Tea Tree plantation and lose yourself in the Tea Tree maze. Further on, entertain the family at fruit plantations, sugar cane farms, an environment centre or crystal castle before retiring at Tweed Heads.

Day 8 - Tweed Heads to Gold Coast or Brisbane

There is so much to do in this area, it’s worth staying a couple of days. Spend your time at Movie World, Sea World and Wet‘n’Wild Water World; make new friends at a wildlife sanctuary or kids club, play in the sand, hire bicycles or drive to the hinterland and see nature at its best. Stay along the coastal strip, in the hinterland or drive to Brisbane.

Day 9 - Gold Coast or Brisbane to Sunshine or Fraser Coast

At the Sunshine Coast, visit the Big Pineapple, a ginger or macadamia factory, Underwater World, a reptile and fauna park and the comical Ettamogah Pub. See the marvellous honey-making cycle, from hive to jar at Super Bee and visit the Queensland Air Museum at Caloundra for an enthralling look at a chapter of aviation history. If time allows, continue to the Fraser Coast for more family fun or stay overnight on the coast.
