The Snowy Mountains region lies southwest of Canberra and includes well known snowfields and famous wilderness sites. The Kosciuszko National Park and Lake Eucumbene, right at the edge of Snowy Mountains National Park, invites further exploration. Thredbo and Perisher Valley, the heart of the Snowy Mountains, are located about 490km southwest of Sydney. The regional map covers the area from Tumut and Canberra in the north to Bombala, Delegate and Suggan Buggan in the south, and from Nimmitabel and Wyndham in the East to Corryong and Khancoban in the West. Seven town maps including Bombala, Dalgety, Cooma, Adaminaby, Jindabyne, Berridale and Tumut show a more detailed view of streets and facilities. The map sheet size is 70cm x 50cm and folds neatly to fit into your glove box or handbag.
Important information shown comprises national parks, nature reserves, winter road closures, The Hume and Hovell walking trail. Significent natural attractions are located, including: Mt Kosciuszko and walking tracks, Scammell's Ridge Lookout, Yarrangobilly Caves, The Blue Lake, Lake Jindabyne, Lake Eucumbene, Blowering Reservoir, Alpine Way Tourist Drive, Mt Gladstone Lookout.
Manmade attractions include: Snowy Mountains Scheme, Khancoban Pondage, Cooma Mosaics, Cabramurra (highest town in Australia), Dalgety Pioneer Hut, Nimmitabel Historic Mill, Bombala Museum, Skitube rail, Perisher and Thredbo resorts and chairlifts, Worlds Largest Trout and Kiandra Goldfield relics and forest camping and rest areas.
The maps show all the detail a traveller could want including all main highways, secondary roads and tracks. Some 4wd tracks are also shown.
